 Nick´s writing Assignment 3     

We are going to practice writing about settings.

A "setting" is where and when a story takes place. It could be a desert, a forest, a town, a pretend country, a real country or even on the moon. It could be past, present or future, day or night, or at a special time of year.

I want you to write about 2-3 different settings. Again, they can be real places or pretend places. You can choose! Focus on describing different things about each place.

Here is an example of how to do Writing Assignment 3:

Football Mountain: This story takes place on Football Mountain. Football Mountain is a large and tall mountain in the north of Spain. People have been living there for thousands of years. The weather is always perfect, which allows the people who live there to play football every hour of every day. From the top of Football Mountain, you can see the ocean.

Los Angeles: This story takes place in Los Angeles. Los Angeles is a city in the United States where many people live. The weather is usually hot and sunny. There are many tall mountains, beautiful beaches, and skyscrapers. The people of Los Angeles like to surf, play sports, exercise, hike, watch movies, and have fun.
